Operations Manual

 

This WordPress plugin is designed to create beautiful and stunning feedback/review pages where visitors, users, clients and customers can provide reviews on the products and services you sell.

Note: The lite version of the plugin does not have the following features available: some review styles, some review style color, option to set reviews combo bar in all pages, SEO and share button settings, style for review page header, style for review page footer and combo bar position and effect settings.

Getting Started

How To Use

We are assuming that you have already logged in to your WordPress admin area, installed and activated the plugin. If you have not, recommend you do so now.

In your left admin panel are the plugin options and you should see:

Settings

First Step in Setting Up

This area contains settings that handles the “permalink structure” of the review pages as well as the different review pages/contents to display in different locations of the site.

It is recommended to set your permalink now and do not change after you have active reviews. Changing at later date can result in 404 errors for visitors and especially search engines!


 

Permalink >

Ø  Review Page Base Path. Supply this field with a slug. Highly recommended you NOT use special characters. This will define the structure of the permalink of the review pages.

 

General Combo Bar >

This section defines the contents of the combo bar to be displayed by default in all pages of the site.

Ø  Review Page. Select the review page of where you would like the list of reviews come from.

Ø  Style. Select the review style you would like to use to display the review lists.

 

Home Combo Bar >

This section defines the contents of the combo bar to be displayed in the home page.

Ø  Review Page. Select the review page of where you would like the list of reviews come from.

Ø  Style. Select the review style you would like to use to display the review lists.

 

You can come back to this area and choose a page and style.
You will be setting those up in the steps below.

 


 

Review Pages

Add Review Page

A “review page” is a generated page that includes the details of the product or services that is going to be reviewed. It also contains the review form.

To add a review page, hover your cursor over menu item from the left admin panel then click “Review Page”.

Then you should see:

Now click the “Add New Review Page” button.


 

1.    The first step of creating your review page is to supply the general information. Complete all fields with desired information:

Ø  Page Title. Enter a title that would help you recognize the review page for future editing. You will be only to see this title.

Ø  Permalink. Enter a name to form the page URL. Recommend using product name. If left empty, system automatically generates a permalink structure based on page title.

Ø  Status. This switch determines whether the page shall be available for access to the public or not. Think “published” and “draft”…

Ø  Restricted. Determines whether the user has to be logged in to access the page by switching “On”. “Off” allows everyone to visit and see the page.

Be SURE to click the “Save Change” button before moving one to next step.


 

2.    Configuring your Header:

 


 

Ø  Header Title. Appears at top of the page.

Ø  Header Logo. Click the “Select Logo” button to upload graphic from your local computer to use as the logo or choose one from media library.

Ø  Logo/Title Alignment. Select from the dropdown how you would like the logo and/or the title to be aligned on the header.

Ø  Header Style. Choose the style you would like to use and apply on the header from the 3 different styles available in the dropdown. Experiment for best results.

Ø  Background Color. Use the built-in color picker to select the color you would like to apply as a background to the header.

Ø  Border. If you would like to apply a border around the header, enter a number (1-2 ideal) that will be equivalent to the size of the border in pixels. Next, use the color picker to define the color of the border.

Ø  Border Radius. Use the different options from the dropdown to add definition to the edges of the header.

Ø  Padding Top. Fill in the field with a number that will correspond to the space in pixels applied above the page title and the logo. Padding will take some experimenting to get just right for your site.

Ø  Padding Bottom. Fill in the field with a number that will correspond to the space in pixels applied below the page title and the logo.

Ø  Text Color. Use the color picker to select the text color inside the header.

Ø  Font Family. Choose from the different fonts in the dropdown that you would like to use.

Ø  Shadow. Use the switch to define a shadow effect on the header.

 


 

3.    Configuring your Footer:

 


 

Ø  Footer Text. Enter content you would like to display on the footer of the review page.

Ø  Footer Style. Choose the style you would like to use. You can change later if desired.

Ø  Background Color. Use the color picker to define the color you would like to apply as the footer’s background.

Ø  Text Color. Use the color picker to select the color of the footer text.

Ø  Border. If you would like to apply a border around the header, enter a number (1-2 ideal) that will be equivalent to the size of the border in pixels. Next, use the color picker to define the color of the border.

Ø  Border Radius. Use the different options from the dropdown to add definition to the edges of the footer.

Ø  Padding Top. Fill in the field with a number that will correspond to the space in pixels applied above the footer text. Padding will take some experimenting to get just right for your site.

Ø  Padding Bottom. Fill in the field with a number that will correspond to the space in pixels applied below the footer text.

Ø  Font Family. Choose from the different fonts in the dropdown.

Ø  Text Alignment. Use the dropdown to determine how you would like the footer contents to be aligned.

 


 

4.    Configuring your Product Info:

Ø  Product Name. The name of the product or service that will be reviewed.

Ø  Product Category. The category where the product or service belongs.

Ø  Product Price. The price of the product or service being reviewed.

Ø  Product Description. The description and details of the product or service being reviewed.

Ø  Product Image. The image of the product or service.

Ø  Product URL. The complete URL or link to the product or service’s page.

Ø  Button Label. The label of the button that will take the user to the product or service’s page when clicked.


 

5.    Configuring your Review Form:

 

 

Ø  Restricted Submit Review. Use this switch to set whether this review form will only be available when the user is logged in.

Ø  Title. The title of the review form.

Ø  Info. Description and details of the review form.

Ø  Input Name. Supply the first input field with the label of the name field that will appear in the form. The input field beside it is where you will add the placeholder of the name field. The placeholder will only be visible when the user hasn’t filled the field with any data yet.

Ø  Input Email. The first input field will serve as the label of the email field that will appear in the form. The input field beside it will serve as the placeholder for the email field.

Ø  Input Review Content. The first input field will be the label for the review content textarea. The input field beside it will serve as the placeholder for the review content field.

Ø  Input Review Title. The switch determines whether you would like to enable this field to be displayed in the form. Contents supplied by the user on this field will be used as the title of their review. The first input field will serve as the label of this field. The input field beside it will appear in the form as a placeholder.

Ø  Input Job. The switch determines whether you would like to enable this field to be displayed in the form. Contents added in this field will be displayed as the reviewer’s current job or position. The first input field will serve as the label of this field that will appear in the form. The input field beside it will appear in the form as a placeholder.

Ø  Input URL. The switch determines whether you would like to enable this field to be displayed in the form. Will be reviewer’s link to website or it can also any other relevant link the reviewer so desires. The first input field will serve as the label of this field that will appear in the form. The input field beside it will appear in the form as a placeholder.

Ø  Input Rating. The switch determines whether you would like to enable the option for the reviewer to select a rating to the product or service that you offer. The input field will serve as the label of the rating field that will appear in the form.

Ø  Submit Button Label. The submit button’s label in the form.

Ø  Thank You Message. Use the WYSIWYG editor to compose a message that will appear once the reviewer successfully finishes and submits the review.

Ø  Error Message. Use the WYSIWYG editor to create a message that will be shown to the reviewer once there is an error in the review form submission.

Ø  Send Notification Email. Tick this checkbox if you would like a notification email to be sent whenever a form has been submitted.

Ø  Send Email To. Enter in this field the email address where the notification email will be sent to.

6.    Configuring your Main Style:

General Styles >

 

Ø  Background Color. Use the color picker to define the background color of the review page.

Ø  Background Image. Click Select Photo to upload a graphic to use as the review page’s background or choose a pre-uploaded image in the media library.

Ø  Background Repeat. Choose how you would like to repeat the background image to cover the entire width of the page.

Ø  Background Opacity. From the dropdown, select the percentage of visibility you would like the background to be.

Ø  Padding Top. Enter a number that would correspond to the space in pixels that would be applied before the header section.

Ø  Padding Bottom. Enter a number equivalent to the space in pixels to be applied after the footer section.

 

Main Content Styles >

 

Ø  Background Color. Use the color picker to define the background color of the main content section of the review page.

Ø  Text Color. Use the color picker to set the default color of the texts in the review page.

Ø  Link Color. Use the color picker to select the color of the texts with an embedded link.

Ø  Link Hover Color. Use the color picker to determine the color of the link when the cursor is hovered over it.

Ø  Padding. Enter a number to define the spaces around the main content section of the review page.

Ø  Border. Apply a border around the main content section by simply adding a number in the input field that will be equivalent to the size of the border in pixels. Then, use the color picker to choose the color of the border.

Ø  Border Radius. Use the different options from the dropdown to add definition to the edges of the main content section.

Ø  Font Family. Select the default font to use in displaying the contents of the main content section.

Ø  Shadow. Use the switch to enable a shadow effect to the main content section.

Ø  Button Style. Choose from the predefined buttons styles in the dropdown which one you would like to use as the default button style of the main content section.

Ø  Button Style Color. Select from the preset colors in the dropdown which one you would like to apply to the button style.

 

Form Input Styles >

 

Ø  Background Color. Use the color picker to define the background color of the review form.

Ø  Text Color. Use the color picker to select the color the texts in the review form are to be displayed in.

Ø  Font Family. Select from the dropdown which font you would like to use to display the contents in the review form.

Ø  Border. Apply a border around the review form by simply adding a number in the input field that will be equivalent to the size of the border in pixels. Then, use the color picker to choose the color of the border.

Ø  Border Radius. Use the different options from the dropdown to add definition to the edges of the main content section.

Ø  Shadow. Turn the switch On if you would like to apply a shadow effect on the review form. Select Off if you would like no shadow effects.

Ø  Button Style. Choose from the predefined button styles in the dropdown which one you would like to use on the submit button of the form.

Ø  Button Style Color. Select from the preset colors in the dropdown which one you would like to apply to the button style.

 


 

7.    Configuring your SEO:

Ø  Meta Title. Specify the title of your review page in this field. Used in browser title bars and search engine results.

Ø  Meta Description. Enter the description of the review page. Entry will be displayed in search engine results when the page is indexed.

Ø  Meta Keywords. Supply comma separated keywords of the page.

Ø  Open Graph Image URL. Supply this field with the complete link or URL of the image you would like to be shown every time this page is shared on social networks.

Ø  Favicon URL. Provide the complete link or URL to the icon you would like to be displayed when the page is viewed. 16x16 or 32x32 PNG format best.

Ø  Tracking Code. Paste the tracking code your provider (such as Google) supplied you to track the activities of the page.

 

8.    Configuring your Social Sharing:

Ø  Show/Hide Share Button. Use the switch to enable the display of sharing buttons in the review page.

Ø  Button Activate. By default, all social sharing sites are set to “active” as indicated by all icons/buttons shown in full colors. To deactivate a certain social sharing site, simply click it and notice the icon/button to be grayed indicating it is deactivated.

Ø  Button Style. From the dropdown, choose from the list of pre-made buttons styles you would like to use on the social sharing icons/buttons.

Ø  Preview. This section will display a preview of how the social sharing looks like when displayed on the frontend.

 


 

9.    Managing your Submitted Reviews:

This is where you can find and manage all the reviews that were submitted for the product or services. They will also appear as submitted comments indicating you need to review/approve.

DO NOT forget to click the “Save Change” button to save all the changes made!


 

Manage

Manage Review Pages

Hover your cursor over WP Feedback menu item on the left admin panel then click “Review Page”.

You can also click the menu item directly to get into the Reviews page then click the “Review Pages” tab as shown in the image below.

This will list down all the review pages that you have created. Tip: the “three (3) bars” controls the dropdown menu by clicking it.


 

Styles

Add Review Style

Before you can insert reviews in any location of your website, you will first need to add a “review style” to define the look and feel of the page holding the list of reviews.

Not all fields are mandatory and you can tweak the style settings at any time desired. It is recommended to set the minimum and tweak until layout is to your liking.

To add a review style, hover your cursor over menu item from the left admin panel then click “Review Style”.

Then you should see:

Click “Add New Style” button.

 


(if this is your first style, you will see a button “Add Review Style” instead of “Save Change”)

Ø  Style Name. Supply a unique name that will help you distinguish it from the rest when managing review styles. Only you will see this.

Ø  Style. Choose from the different pre-made styles in the dropdown which one you would like to use. Experiment to see what best fits your site layout.

Ø  Style Color. Select from the predefined color schemes which one you would like to apply with the style on the page that lists down the submitted reviews.

 


 

1.    Configuring your Header Style:

Ø  Title. Enter the title of the reviews page to be displayed where you will be inserting the list of reviews. The same title will also be visible in the combo bar only for your use.

Ø  Logo. Click Select Photo to upload a graphic to use as the logo in the reviews page or use an already uploaded image from the media library.

Ø  Close Button. Determines whether the close button will be shown or hidden on the combo bar. If close bar active, user can completely close.

Ø  Minimize Button. Determines whether the close button will be shown or hidden on the combo bar.

Ø  Number of Reviews Format. Enter how you would like the number of reviews be displayed. Currently only %number% in use and equals number of reviews.

 

 

2.    Configuring your List Style:

 


 

Ø  Count. Enter a number that will determine how many reviews will be displayed using the review style.

Ø  Order By. Determines how the reviews are going to be sorted out.

Ø  Layout. Defines how the order of the review contents are to be displayed.

Ø  Photo. Use the switch to show or hide the photo of the reviewer.

Ø  User URL. Use the switch to enable the display or hide the URL provided by the reviewer.

Ø  Rating. Determines whether to show or hide the rating the reviewer has provided.

Ø  Verified. Use the switch to show or hide the verified text below in the reviewer’s details.

Ø  Verified URL. Supply this field with the complete link or URL to the page showing the reviewer is a verified customer.

Ø  Term Info. Fill this field with text contents that are displayed right after every reviews.

 


 

3.    Configuring your Combo Bar Style:

Ø  Position. Determines the position of the combo bar in the page.

Ø  Page Load Visibility. Set the switch to define the visibility of the combo bar when displayed on the page.

Ø  Show Audio. Select the audio to play when the combo bar shows the reviews.

Ø  Hide Audio. Choose the audio to play when the combo bar is minimized.

 

DO NOT forget to click the “Save Change” button to save all the changes made!

 


 

Manage

Manage Review Styles

Hover your cursor over WP Feedback menu item on the left admin panel then click “Review Style”.

You can also click the menu item directly to get into the Reviews Style page then click the “Review Styles” tab as shown in the image below.

This will list down all the review pages that you have created. Tip: the “three (3) bars” controls the dropdown menu by clicking it.

 


 

Post and Pages

Add Reviews to Post & Pages

This guide assumes that you are already inside the WordPress editor either creating a new page/post or editing a draft or previously published post/page.

 

Ø  Make sure that the edit is in Visual mode and the toolbar is expanded so that all tools are viewable and available for use.

Ø  Click the WP Feedback icon from the toolbar. The icon should look the same as the following image.

Ø  A window should be displayed (popup) containing the following options:

 

 

Ø  Select Review Page. From the dropdown, select from which review page would you like the reviews to come from.

Ø  Select Style. From the dropdown, select the list of review styles you would like the list of reviews to be displayed in.

 

Ø  Once you have completed selecting the options to display a list of reviews in the page, click Insert Review List so the system can generate the necessary shortcode.

Ø  Once the shortcode has been generated and inserted into content, update the page/post.

 


 

Widgets

Add Reviews to Widgets

Ø  From the WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Widgets.

Ø  Locate the widget titled Reviews List and drag it to the sidebar where you wanted a list of reviews to display.

 

 

 

Ø  Once inside the designated sidebar, select the review page from where you would like all the reviews come from then choose the review style to customize how you would like the review list to be displayed.

Ø  Finally, click Save to apply and implement the changes.

If your theme has been designed with other widget areas, WP Feedback Pro will also work within those area.
